Put JIMMYS on your list – best reasonable steaks and atmosphere in Panama

Don’t miss this place. First, you will see plenty of Gringos here for the $12 Jimmy Special – garlic infused strip steak to die for – complete with butter and chimichurri sauce. It’s huge and you will smell like a human garlic factory but the taste is to die for….

If you are not in the mood for steak, there is an extensive menu featuring many types of fish and chicken, The Gringo likes the Bolegnese Spaghetti in particular.

Tip: Order two drinks at a time if you are thirsty, drink glasses are small and when they are busy, it can take a while for refills. Also, let your waiter know when you are nearly done to get the check. As in most Latin countries, the check is not brought automatically. Don’t act like a gringo and complain – you have been warned (this for my friend Panamemo who keeps telling me how ugly North Americans are) :)

I recently returned from PTY and had gone to Jimmy’s. I’m sorry to report that I was disappointed. I ordered the NY Strip with papas fritas and a salad. The steak was tough, the fries were soggy and the service was at best poor. The plus side was the place was very clean.

    On a scale from 1 to 10…..3

Jimmy’s sounds great. How about an address/phone number?
