Looking for your morning bagel with cream cheese and a large coffee, served up North American style? Try New York Bagel Café in El Cangrejo, Panama City. This little coffee shop is pretty trendy; leather couches, tableside books, abstract paintings complete the laid-back environment. The owner, John, is a former member of the Peace Corps who put down roots in Panama.
The 20 different types of bagels include Strawberry Fields, Frisco Sourdough, and
Jumpin Jalapeno. Sundried Tomato Basil cream cheese is just one of the 12 flavors you can choose from to top your bagel. He also makes 18 different types of sandwiches. To drink there are a number of flavored coffees, Italian sodas and juices. You can also buy bagel chips and homemade desserts.
Gringos are in and out of here all the time, so swing on by and hang out with some of the other foreigners who have made this coffee shop a regular breakfast stop and casual meeting place. Its not hard to find; it is located on Ave Arturo Motta off of Via Argentina, right by the statue of Einsteins head.

Will be in Panama early November and did intend to stop in…There was a write-up in USNewsweek mag about this shop. Good Luck
