Map of the Calzada de Amador (Causeway) Panama with the Wine Bar location
Within the last year, the Wine Bar (originally found by the Veneto hotel) has opened a second location on the Causeway.  As Panama  Gringo readers know - the Wine Bar is a Gringo favorite.  On my recent trip to Panama City, I ventured out to the new location on the Causeway - and was surprised by a more spacious version of the Wine bar I have come to enjoy.  Service was excellent. Gorganzola brushetta was phenomenal.  They continue to do it right, pay attention and deserve your patronage.

Is funny. My experience was awful when I went to the wine bar. First, the selection was minimal. Service was the MOST awful service I ever had. No ONE checked on us for over 15 minutes. I actually had to stand up several times and go inside the restaurant and ask the manager for help since no one went to the table to check on us. Service consisted of bringing the bottle to the table after we had asked to be served and then completely forgotten about us. They also stiff you with the 10% tip, which I would tip 20% like in the States if service was good. I do not patronize the wine bar-I would go to the Spanish place next door-but never Wine Bar Causeway. The one in the city is ok though.
